Educational information

Black Girl Biohacking publishes health, wellness, longevity, culture, and lifestyle information for educational and editorial purposes. Content may include reporting, research interpretation, personal reflection, interviews, practical frameworks, and tools for self-observation.

Nothing on this website, in an email, publication, download, podcast, video, social post, or related communication should be understood as individualized medical advice, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, or a substitute for professional care.

No clinician-patient relationship

Reading, listening to, responding to, or contacting BGB does not create a clinician-patient, therapist-client, dietitian-client, or other healthcare professional relationship. Contributors who hold professional credentials provide general information unless they are separately treating you through an established professional relationship.

Your health context matters

Health information cannot account for every person’s medical history, symptoms, medications, allergies, disability, pregnancy status, life stage, access, environment, or other circumstances. A practice that is appropriate for one person may be inappropriate or unsafe for another.

Consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before making a significant change to medication, supplements, nutrition, fasting, exercise, sleep, mental-health care, reproductive care, testing, or treatment—especially if you have symptoms, a diagnosed condition, take medication, are pregnant or nursing, or are preparing for a procedure.

Symptoms and emergencies

BGB cannot evaluate symptoms or provide emergency care. Do not delay seeking professional care because of something you read or hear through BGB.

If you believe you may be experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service immediately.

Self-study and personal data

BGB may discuss tracking, journaling, wearables, laboratory results, biomarkers, or personal experiments. These tools can support questions and observations, but they do not independently establish a diagnosis or prove cause and effect. Laboratory ranges, device readings, and health data require interpretation in context.

Do not discontinue prescribed treatment or use a self-study to override professional medical guidance without discussing the decision with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Supplements, food, fasting, and movement

References to foods, supplements, herbs, fasting patterns, movement, recovery practices, products, or technologies are informational. Natural does not automatically mean safe. Products and practices may interact with medications, affect medical conditions, vary in quality, or create risks at particular doses or life stages.

BGB does not guarantee the safety, effectiveness, purity, regulatory status, or suitability of a product or practice for an individual reader.

Research and editorial judgment

Health research changes over time. BGB works to distinguish established findings, emerging evidence, uncertainty, and editorial interpretation, but cannot guarantee that every source, link, recommendation, statistic, or scientific position will remain complete or current after publication.

Publication dates and, where applicable, updated or corrected dates are provided to help readers understand the record. See our Editorial Standards for more about sourcing, corrections, and evidence.

Lived experience and individual outcomes

Personal stories, interviews, and examples describe particular experiences. They are not promises or guarantees that another person will have the same response or outcome. Black women are not a biologically uniform group, and BGB does not treat race as biological destiny.

Contributors and external resources

A contributor’s views are their own unless expressly identified as BGB’s position. Links to research, organizations, products, clinicians, or other external resources are provided for context and do not automatically constitute endorsement. Third parties control their own content, services, and practices.

Corrections and questions

If you believe BGB health content contains an error, omits important context, or needs review, email info@blackgirlbiohacking.com with the article title, URL, and the specific passage or claim.

Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer as BGB’s formats, services, editorial practices, or legal responsibilities change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
