BODY WHISPERS · A LOVE LETTER
Dear Beautiful Black Girl
An evergreen offering from Shonda Patterson
Somewhere along the way, you became invisible — to the systems that should protect you, to the spaces that should include you, sometimes even in the rooms where you're most needed.
In doctor's offices where your pain was minimized. In wellness spaces that excluded your image and your reality. You learned to carry everything, to push through everything, while your own needs faded into background noise. Your body's signals became something to push through.
Slowly, you learned to dismiss your own whispers the same way the world dismissed you. That heaviness? Stress. That exhaustion? Just life. Those early signals your body was sending? Not urgent enough to matter. Not yet.
But here's what I know to be true: the invisibility was never about your worth. It was always about systems that weren't built to see you.
Let me tell you what else is true.
You are powerful. You are deserving. And your body — the one you've learned to push past — holds wisdom that has been trying to reach you.
That wisdom? It's your longevity speaking. Not the kind measured in years alone, but in quality. In presence. In the ability to hear yourself early and often.
"I want this for you. Not as something you have to fight for, but as something that already belongs to you."
That's why I built Black Girl Biohacking. For you.
Here, you're not an addition. You're not a demographic someone remembered to include. You are the reason this exists. Your body, your context, your lived experience — that's the foundation.
It's my honor to present Black Girl Biohacking to you — not just as a resource, but as a love offering.
And Body Whispers is my way of sitting with you in the noticing. Not teaching. Not fixing. Just helping you tune back into the wisdom that's always been there.
This is where I'll sit with you in the small moments — the ones that whisper before they shout. The quiet knowing that comes before everything else.
What was invisible, I see. What was ignored, I honor. What was quiet, we'll hear together.
This conversation has always been about you.
You were never invisible to yourself, and you're not invisible to me or to your heritage. Your body has been whispering for generations. You are the first one with the tools, the language, and the space to listen and explore.
That is the beginning — and the legacy — of this work.
Every whisper is an invitation, and Black Girl Biohacking is my whisper to you, beautiful Black girl.
With love,
